Wendy Silverstein is a nursing leader with over 40 years of experience managing shared governance, Magnet designation, and nursing education at Morristown Medical Center.
Wendy Silverstein serves as the Manager of Shared Governance, Magnet, and Nursing Education for Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. For more than ten years, she has led the shared governance initiatives at Morristown.
Throughout her 40-year nursing career, Wendy has served in many areas, including professional development, leadership development, and quality improvement. Notably, she has successfully led five Magnet redesignations. In addition, she has published several articles in support of shared governance and Magnet, and has presented on professional development, shared governance, and care delivery models. Beyond these contributions, Wendy has also provided consulting assistance on nursing practice and quality improvement to various medical facilities.
Wendy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Jersey. She then earned her Master of Arts in the Delivery of Nursing Service from New York University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rutgers University. Currently, she also serves as a Magnet appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her professional memberships include the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, the American Nurses Association, the New Jersey Council of Magnet Organizations, and the Organization of Nurse Leaders of NJ. Finally, Wendy teaches nursing leadership as an adjunct professor at Kean University in New Jersey.
