Stacey Brull is currently the senior director of Research, Education, and Magnet for Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been leading the shared governance initiatives at Mercy and is the principle co-investigator for a study measuring shared governance using the Index of Professional Governance tool. Her previous work entailed the development and implementation of shared governance at the division and unit level.
Stacey has served in many positions in her 20 years of nursing, including consulting, recruitment and retention, professional development, leadership development, and quality improvement. She has written several grants to support innovative programs for employees outside of nursing to be able to obtain a nursing degree. Stacey has also presented locally and nationally on evidence-based practice, care delivery models, and nursing retention.
Stacey received her bachelors of science in nursing from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and her masters of science in nursing administration from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. She has served on the American Organization of Nurse Executives Quality and Patient Safety Committee and the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission. Stacey is also a Magnet appraiser for the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau, and the American Nurses Association.
