Majedaph204Majeda Afeef Al-Ruzzieh, PhD, FPCC is the chief nursing officer at the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) in Jordan. In 2019, under her leadership, KHCC became the first hospital in Jordan to achieve Magnet® Designation with a second redesignation in 2024. In 2020, KHCC became the first hospital in the Middle East to receive accreditation for shared governance from the Forum for Shared Governance. Furthermore, in 2022, she established the first Oncology Nursing Residency Program in Jordan, which was accredited with distinction as the first of its kind in Jordan and the second in the Middle East by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Majeda’s leadership also directs the nursing research and evidence-based practice, as well as the accredited Life Support Training Center at KHCC. She has contributed her expertise as an advisory member on many national, regional, and international boards, including the executive board for the Jordanian Nursing Council, four esteemed nursing schools, and many scientific committees for nursing forums and conferences.

As of January 2024, Majeda successfully completed the Person-Centered Care Professional Certificate Program, becoming the first in Jordan to be credentialed as a Fellow in Person-Centered Care by Planetree® International. This prestigious distinction recognizes her leadership in demonstrating a personal and professional commitment to upholding the values of person-centered care. Additionally, she has served as the chairperson for the Patient-Centered Care Committee at KHCC since 2018, further illustrating her dedication to enhancing patient experiences and outcomes. Majeda’s dedication to advancing nursing is evident through her publications and presentations. She was recognized with the HRH Princess Mona Al-Hussein Award for Nursing Leadership in Jordan in 2013.
