Cynthia King is a professor, author, and international consultant who has been actively involved in shared governance since 1987, bringing decades of clinical and academic nursing expertise.
Cynthia R. King, PhD, NP, MSN, RN, CNL, FAAN, went into nursing after completing a BS in biology and psychology. Over several decades, Cyndy has worked as a clinician (staff nurse, CNS, NP), educator/faculty, administrator, and researcher. In addition, she has run her own consulting business for 11 years, worked in hospice/home care, and worked in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
Cyndy has published extensively, including completing a book with her father, Dr. John A. King, for patients and family called, 100 Questions and Answers About Communicating with Your Healthcare Provider. She also started a new nursing journal (JDNA), published a book called Advances in Oncology Nursing Research, and has finished her 3rd edition of a book about quality of life.
Currently, Cyndy serves as program director and professor, Online Nursing, Graduate Studies Program, with Saint Joseph’s College. Beyond her academic role, she serves on many national advisory boards and grant review teams. She also consults on leadership, research/evidence-based practice, and shared governance. With involvement in shared governance since 1987, Cyndy has spoken and consulted internationally, nationally, regionally, and locally.
