Carole Wickham, DNS, RN, CNS-BC — Director of Professional Practice at St. Peter's Health Partners

Carole Wickham, DNS, RN, CNS-BC is an experienced nurse leader at St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), Acute Care. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and advanced progressively as a Registered Professional Nurse, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nurse Educator.

Professional Practice and Leadership

Currently, as the Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Research, Carole Wickham has successfully led St. Peter’s Hospital through its third and fourth Magnet redesignation, with its fifth redesignation now in progress. In addition, she oversees nursing research and co-chairs the Nursing Research Council. She also manages the Research Mentor Program and supervises the Nursing Recognition programs, such as the DAISY program. Furthermore, Carole leads the Professional Advancement Program (Clinical Ladder) for clinical nurses and advises on multiple nursing shared governance councils. She also serves as a scientific reviewer on the Trinity Health New York Institutional Review Board and is a member of the American Nurses Association. Additionally, she has served as a Board Member for Maria College.

Education and Credentials

Carole graduated from Russell Sage College with a Masters Advanced Practice Nurse degree on the Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) track. She also earned a post master’s certificate in Nursing Education and a doctorate in Nursing Science in Leadership and Education. She holds board certification as a CNS.
