Carole Wickham, DNS, RN, CNS-BC is an experienced nurse leader at St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP), Acute Care. Carole began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and advanced as a Registered Professional Nurse, Clinical Nurses Specialist, and Nurse Educator.
Currently, as the Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Research, Carole has successfully led St. Peter’s Hospital through its third and fourth Magnet redesignation with its fifth redesignation in progress. She is in charge of nursing research; co-chairs the Nursing Research Council; oversees the Research Mentor Program; supervises the Nursing Recognition programs, such as the DAISY program; is responsible for the Professional Advancement Program (Clinical Ladder) for clinical nurses; and advises on multiple nursing shared governance councils. Carole is a scientific reviewer on the Trinity Health New York Institutional Review Board and is a member of the American Nurses Association. She has served as a Board Member for Maria College.
Carol graduated from Russell Sage College with a Masters Advanced Practice Nurse degree, Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) track, a post master’s certificate in Nursing Education, and a doctorate in Nursing Science in Leadership and Education. She is board certified as a CNS.
