Dr Sarah Brzozowski is the Director of Accreditation for the Forum for Shared Governance. She can be contacted at sbrzozowski@uwhealth.org.

Sarah is the Director of Magnet and Nursing Excellence at UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin. Sarah is accountable for UW Health’s Magnet designation and also oversees nursing research, evidence-based practice programming, and leads shared governance initiatives. Sarah assisted UW Health in becoming only  the second healthcare system to be accredited as a shared governance institution by the Forum for Shared Governance in 2021. Sarah began her nursing career on a Clinical Research Unit where her appreciation for research and advancing knowledge began.

Prior to obtaining her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Spanish (with a minor in business) from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. Sarah also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Arizona State University and is currently a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where her dissertation explores leadership, work environment and professional nursing practice of registered nurses in primary care. Sarah has served as Chair of the Health Systems, Policy & Informatics Research Interest Group at the Midwest Nursing Research Society, is Nurse Executive Advanced Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau, American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing, and the Association for Leadership Science in Nursing.
