Marla Weston, PhD, RN — CEO of Weston Consulting and former American Nurses Association Enterprise CEO

Marla Weston is the CEO of Weston Consulting, LLC and former CEO of the American Nurses Association Enterprise, with over 30 years of expertise in professional governance and nursing practice environments.

As the CEO of Weston Consulting, LLC, Marla helps organizations grow, innovate, and transform for impact. Previously, she served as the CEO of the American Nurses Association Enterprise, where she focused on enhancing the professional practice environment for nurses to improve the quality of patient outcomes.

For more than 30 years, Marla has implemented, studied, and published about the nursing practice environment. Her work has focused specifically on professional nursing practice, staff nurse empowerment, and leadership. In addition, she has conducted several studies about the nursing work environment, control over nursing practice, and Magnet hospitals. More recently, her work has centered on delineating the antecedents to control over nursing practice and measuring professional governance.

Marla earned a BS in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, an MS in Nursing from Arizona State University, and a PhD in Nursing from the University of Arizona.
